Environmental Impact and Sustainability Policy 

At Artisan Productions Ltd, we recognise the importance of sustainable practices and are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our audio-visual production and equipment hire services. This policy reflects our dedication to minimising waste, conserving resources, and supporting the sustainable development of our industry. It guides all areas of our operations and is reviewed regularly to ensure ongoing progress and innovation. 

Sustainable Equipment Management 

We are committed to sustainability through responsible equipment management, upgrading to efficient technology, recycling materials such as single-use items, and reducing plastic waste by choosing reusable and rechargeable options. 

Reducing waste is a priority across our operations. We limit disposable materials by replacing PVC tape with reusable ties, reducing single-use plastic. We also recycle event materials, such as carpets, through partnerships with eco-friendly suppliers. To minimise battery waste, we exclusively use rechargeable batteries where possible, ensuring fewer single-use items end up in landfill. We also re-use stage fronting and sets, handling with care and cleaning, in favour of single-use panels. 

Energy conservation is at the forefront of our sustainability initiatives. Our lighting inventory has been upgraded to LED technology, which substantially reduces energy usage compared with traditional bulbs. As part of our ongoing commitment, our business premises are currently being equipped with solar panels by our landlord, which will allow us to transition to green energy sources in the near future. This combination of efficient technology and renewable energy will further reduce our environmental impact. 

Equipment longevity is important to us – we look after our inventory and carry out servicing and repairs in-house. We aim to repair and maintain equipment without needing to buy a replacement. 

Transport Efficiency 

To minimise our carbon footprint, we have invested in a fleet of diesel vehicles that are ULEZ-compliant with all low emission standards. For site visits and daily operations our fleet includes electric vehicles, ensuring that we minimise emissions for routine travel and contribute to cleaner air in urban areas. Our approach to transportation focuses on direct route planning, which reduces fuel consumption. For on-site work, we coordinate shared transport including the use of public transport options for our crew

where possible, cutting down the total number of vehicles required. This practice supports both environmental goals and operational efficiency. 

Crew and Employee Practices 

Our sustainability values extend to our entire team. We issue high-quality smart uniforms that are durable and reduce material waste. On site, we equip crew members with reusable water bottles to minimise plastic use, and we enforce a strict ban on PVC tape, promoting the use of sustainable materials throughout our operations. 

Digitalisation and Remote Solutions 

To reduce paper waste, our company operates as a paperless business. All contracts, invoices, and quotations are managed digitally, with clients able to sign documents online, avoiding the need for printing. Where possible, we prioritise virtual consultations to limit travel and use remote access technology for site visits, further minimising our carbon footprint and travel requirements. 

Governance and Leadership 

Our sustainability team, which includes our Managing Director, Production Director, and department teams, meet twice annually to review targets, assess our sustainability performance, and adapt strategies as needed. This leadership involvement ensures that sustainability remains a top priority across all areas of the business. 

Employee and Client Engagement 

We believe that sustainable practices should be embedded in our company culture. All employees undergo mandatory sustainability training, equipping them with knowledge about our policies and practices. Additionally, we are developing communication methods to share our environmental policies with clients, encouraging collaborative efforts toward shared environmental goals. 

Carbon Offset Initiatives 

We recognise that some emissions are unavoidable, and to address this we are committed to investing in carbon reduction schemes, such as tree planting. These initiatives help to offset our carbon footprint and contribute positively to the environment. 

Future Commitment 

As we progress, we aim to achieve ISO 14001 for Environmental Management and ISO 20121 for Event Sustainability Management. These certifications will further demonstrate our commitment to responsible and sustainable operations within the industry. 

As part of our commitment to reducing emissions, we plan to transition to electric light goods vehicles as soon as they become widely available and economically viable, ensuring that our transport methods align with our sustainability goals.
